Atlanta police release sketches of armed robbery suspects

Edgewood robbery suspect 1 Edgewood robbery suspect 2Sketches were released Tuesday of two suspects wanted for a pedestrian armed robbery in Atlanta.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Edgewood Avenue on June 22.

A woman told police that a dark blue Chevy SUV pulled up beside her and two men got out and tried to grab her cellphone. She said she was hit by what she believed was a flashlight while struggling with one of the men. She stabbed him in his right thigh with her pocket knife. The other man, armed with a handgun, threatened to shoot her but did not fire. Both men fled the scene in the SUV. The knife was still in the man’s leg, she said.

None of her property was stolen.

A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspects.
